The following is what my good friend, Suzi, wrote about her cat, and my little friend.

In Loving Memory
Who would ever thought that a stray that followed me home and welcomed herself into my house 12+ years ago would touch my heart . Dusti - My Girl was granted her wings today and was escorted by the angels that came to get her. She stayed with us long enough to train Teddy to carry out her duty of taking care of her family.
She is at peace now and will be dearly missed!

This is really sweet of you. Dusti held a special part in her heart for you and loved when you would come visit her and not me! She is now at a place where she will no longer be afraid of things that scared her.
It still amazes me how she "welcomed" Teddy (dog) into our home. She showed no fear of him. Dusti would march past Teddy...turn and meow and he would lay down as if she gave him a command. I am sure between the two of them they had conversations on how she wanted him to finish out her duty of taking care of and watching over her family. Although, Teddy will never take her place.....she taught him well.
Shane and I were lucky to be graced by 12+ years of her 16 years of life!
Will always Love Ya Dust!
