This is getting absurd!!

Just when I thought Terri Schiavo would be leaving this world soon...in peace...here go her parents trying to intervene again. If all these people protesting outside hospice really believe in God, don't you think they would want her to be with Him? I heard Mrs. Schindler ask Michael Schivo to let her have her child since he has his...this statement shows me how controlling she is. In eating disorders there is such a thing as too much control on part of parents, and the eating disorder itself is one way the for the child to take back some of the control on their own. This case shows me the Schindlers are still trying to control her right up to her dying moment!
Let Terri go now! Let her pass in peace, PLEASE!!

My 84 year old mother decided she wanted to die on her own terms rather than be kept alive and even had her signature on a legal paper from the lawyer stating such. She was staving herself and didn't want to be in the nursing home...but do you think they respected her wishes? Hell no!! One day she was going downhill fast, turning blue and they sent her to the hospital to be revived and stabalized...even the EMT who was with her and listened to her screams as she was revived, stated he didn't feel this was right. She lived another month but I think it was a month she hated. Someone mentioned a feeding tube and we said no. She didn't want to converse with us anymore and was fed up with the whole situation. I remember a conversation with one of the nursing home staff who thought it was not right for her to stop wanting to live and mentioned that she didn't allow HER mother to make that decision and, religion was brought into it. After trying to tell my sister and me that we didn't have the right to let her die, we explained in no uncertain terms that we were respecting her right to die the way she preferred...it was not our place to intervene. So, I guess I am on Terri's side in this fight. Besides, too many days have gone by now without feeding tube to interrupt her dying process...just let her go in peace, finally!

It is starting back up again...

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=44964

Why do humans have to be so damn cruel? Cruelty to animals is so despicable and I am getting sick of hearing about these stories...I wish the day would arrive when no more articles such as the one above, would be printed because there would be no more animal cruelty! Wouldn't that be a day of great celebration? For now, boycott anything Canadian and sign petitions...do whatever to stop this barbaric action.

What we are doing is so wrong...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7278853/

This is quite sad and maddening, if you really think about it. How we can destroy some country like this is beyond comprehension. When reading Riverbend's book "Baghdad Burning" (which are in her blog archives), I learned how important palm trees are to their culture...and reading of such destruction fills me with much anger!! Why do we not respect such things? Let's just hope that this once very beautiful city will be re-built to satisfaction.

A great web blog from Iraqi woman

I have been reading a very informative book, "Baghdad Burning" by an Iraqi woman known as Riverbend. I would hope that everyone would check out her blog http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/. I have learned things I didn't know about the Iraq culture and she writes with such intensity, that I look forward to each blog with a great amount of anticipation. Please do yourself a favor and enter into her world and see what is happening in her country as our military destroys it. What a shame we are destroying Iraq for no reason other than Bush wanted to be the big bully on the block!

What a hypocrite

So Bush went to church today to pray for peace and our soldiers well-being...enough to make me sick! How hypocritical of him...the most warmongering person on earth today. I would hope that the soldiers are seeing how not-so-funny this is.

US soldiers getting away with murder again

I am not surprised to see that 17 soldiers hooked to 3 deaths of prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq will not be punished! Oh sure we had a couple of them sent to prison for the horror at Abu Gharib but that was a token thing. To make excuses for soldiers when committing murder on prisoners is so out-right ethically and morally wrong!! This is NOT what my country is supposed to be about...we are to be better than this, and when our military looks the other way, I am filled with guilt as it is being done in my name...my name! I didn't sanction this type of behavior and never will. I think of the quote by Edmund Burke: All that is essential for the triumph of evil is that good men to do nothing.

Coming down to the wire

Well, guess all the options are running out quickly for the parents of Terri Schiavo. No one is willing to intervene and her fate is coming right down to the wire. I am cheering for Terri to win this battle of no feeding tube...I really believe she didn't want to live like this. I could be wrong but then, this is just my opinion.

G.W. and his ironic interest in Terri Schiavo

I heard G.W. Bush was quoted as saying something about wanting to "err on the side of life"...how ironic! Did he feel this same way when Governor of TX and had more executions in his state than any other state? The justice system is full of errors. What about the innocent Iraqi citizens who are being murdered in his war? Does he seem to care about their lives? So why is he now, so concerned over Terri's life? It is politics, folks...plain and simple.

Schiavo case

Poor Terri Schiavo. I don't think she knows what is happening around her and that she is so newsworthy. I think the only positive thing that may arise out of this tragic story is how many people will want to create a Living Will...something they may not have thought much about until now. I wish her peace...
