Shame on the BASTARDS!!

Guess I am not surprised at the vote on this important piece of land. Shame on every single elected official who voted to drill for oil!!! I am disgusted with the crap coming out of Washington and these a-holes need to be thrown out when the 2006 election comes about. Below first hyperlink is slideshow on the beauty of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and what is going to be in the line of fire.

This is something good to do

http://earthday.care2.com/?from_uid=b614515829c5361e33ee368fd6d0ca17
What is the Earth Day Virtual March? It's a massive grassroots campaign mobilizing people around the country to protest this latest threat to the Arctic, and other anti-conservation policies. Care2 is hosting the March in partnership with the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.

You won't have to go to Washington or stand in the rain. And, you can watch the March grow on your computer screen! When you join the March we'll send you a personalized impact map so you can literally see your influence spread from friend to friend across the country. Then, on Earth Day (April 22nd), we'll send letters from all March participants to their Senators, in a nationwide show of support for conservation.

Tom DeLay is trash and needs to be thrown out!

Tom DeLay, the bottom-feeding, lying, thieving, piece of scum that he is, needs his butt kicked out of the House of Representatives like yesterday!! That the piece of crap has stayed this long is an insult to the American way of life. On and on this moron continues in his dirty work and sullies the halls of Congress. I am sick to death of these Republicans who are constantly spewing so-called Christian values to all of us and at the same time, living lives that are so devoid of anything decent and compassionate. Kick his butt out NOW, and all the rest of the garbage in the Republican party! America needs to find respect in herself before we have totally gone to Hell.

My right to live or die is my business!

Wondered just how long it would take before Congress decided to try and make a law on how I should be able to live and die. I am very angry that both Republicans and some Democrats are involved in our personal life issues. They have more pressing issues to work on: saving our environment, health care for the poor, getting us out of Iraq, etc. etc. I want Congress to stay out of my life and get one of their own, and, I, will be the only one to decide my death and not Congress or any nutty religious fanatic will make decisions that personal, for me.

Pope John Paul II: a most beloved Pope

Today the Pope died.
I am not a Catholic but could still recognize the greatness in this man. He was loved by all faiths and the world will miss him. Pope John Paul II was a man of great personal courage and a love of the common man. When he survived an assassination attempt and later met with the Turkish man accused of that crime and he forgave him...I cried. Even though he had conservative views regarding women priests and abortion, he was a liberal concerning the death penalty. He did a lot for people with AIDs in those early days when many were still scared of the disease. I think people just felt like he really cared about them and how genuine that love was.
John Paul II will remain as one of the most beloved Pope's. The heaven's have just added another star to shine bright on a dark night.

One of our finest journalists leaving TV

Sad to read Ted Koppel is leaving ABC's "Nightline" in December. I have watched that news show since the very beginning and looked forward to it every night after my own local news. One of the finest produced news shows around, especially because of the integrity of Koppel. We are losing journalists from the generation that reported news...not make it up for ratings or because the top brass bowed down to the White House.
Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather (he was taken out by the neo-cons over Bush deserter story) are gone, and now my favorite...Ted Koppel is leaving. We are going to be stuck with a lot of so-called journalists who will be telling the news the way they are told to tell it.
Ted Koppel was fair and as balanced in his reporting as anyone could be, and had integrity...I have always trusted him. He is the model future journalists should strive to be like.
Now, I wish him the best and hope the best for us all...without his likes in the newsroom.
