Cindy Sheehan, a true example of courage and spirit

Cindy Sheehan, mother of soldier killed in Iraq, is a great example of courage and perseverance. She will not back down from her mission...to end the illegal and very tragic war in Iraq. I stand with you in spirit.

To all those who are gathered against her, they are mis-guided and stubborn in their support of the evil Bush Administration. They will not look at the facts and admit Bush started a war against a country that had absolutely NOTHING to do with 9/11 and NEVER ATTACKED our country! Why are some people so damn stubborn or gullible when the evidence is right in their face? Makes them look foolish.

I believe the momentum will continue to grow in support for Cindy and against this evil Administration and all they stand for...greed; lying; stealing; bullying and death; and in that, the Republican neo-cons dishonor this country of mine.

Cindy Sheehan, you are supported by those of us who want peace and an acknowledgement of why this illegal war is allowed to continue. Why were the sons and daughters of the very people who believe in this war not doing military duty? Many questions are unanswered and Bush won't talk. Shame on him!!!

A site to see

I just talked to an artist last night during one of our Wednesday Night Market activities, whose art stunned me with exceptional beauty. Thought I was looking at photography but it turned out to be paintings! Please check the site out in my links and see for yourself.

Still feeling very emotional over Jennings death

I have been watching the different tributes to Peter Jennings and still continue to feel very sad and emotional; I cry whenever I see something about him. I really didn't realize I would take his death this hard. Guess it is because he has left us way too early and too sudden.

I am having a hard time believing he won't be reporting the news or doing his specials ever again. This is getting too wierd, huh? Oh well...he was the last of the anchormen and the one who should still be here.

Damn! What a loss.

Farewell to an Exceptional Journalist

I grew up in the '60s watching elegant, intelligent Peter Jennings. I thought we would be watching him for some years to come. He has died too soon. When I was a young person, I grew up watching the news with Peter Jennings, Ted Koppel, Tom Brokaw, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Huntley & Brinkley, etc. etc. Those were the days when you had no idea what their political persuasion was (and you weren't supposed to be able to tell, unlike the people today); they reported the news--not made it up!

I am sad today and have cried at different times since hearing the news. I am sad for all of us who remember the good old days of reporting and the standard that was set by so many of these journalists and how now, the news media has become an industry of entertainment and not REAL important news. The trust that we had in the earlier days is not with us...but in Jennings and the others, we kept our faith. I am afraid that many of the younger generation are not concerned with the news and I feel they will not have the same type of good, fair and balanced journalists as in my day. What a damn shame...and a very scary thought.

Peter Jennings certainly made his mark as an exceptional journalist; someone who knew his stuff. I wasn't always happy with some of his reporting but I really felt he cared about life and the people in it. He is going to be truly missed and Journalism has lost a true icon. Thank you, Peter Jennings, for giving us your best.

Rest in peace.
